Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Bust

Three adult males are in police custody following a traffic stop in Rome. At about 2:15 am on Sunday, June 19th., Rome Police Officer Tyler Witchley conducted a traffic stop on Black River Blvd. During the course of interviewing the occupants of the vehicle, it was learned that there were methamphetamine manufacturing materials in the vehicle. Officers located two active one pot method "Meth Labs" in the vehicle as well as assorted meth making materials. Arrested and charged with Manufacturing Meth. in the 3rd degree, a class D felony are :



34 year old Jason E. Johnston a resident of Floyd Ave. in Rome, 19 year old Codilee A. Lighthall, resident of W. Thomas St. in Rome and 19 year old Daryan J. Nichols who resides on Hillside Rd. in Boonville. Johnston is also facing charges of Operating with a suspended license and suspended registration. All three men are currently being held in Rome Police Lockup. The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team also responded to the scene to safely secure the chemicals and labs. Defendant photos below.
