Rome PD Click It of Ticket Results

The Rome Police Department participated in the New York State Click it or Ticket campaign, beginning May 22nd and ending on June 4th. Using grant funds provided by through the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Commission, members of the Rome Police Department were dedicated to enforce and educate motorists who failed to use proper restraints, including child passenger seats. During the Click it or Ticket campaign, 23 motorists were issued for failing to wear seat belts tickets by the Rome Police Department patrol division.

A reminder for all drivers and passengers, everyone in the front seat of a motor vehicle must wear a seat belt. All passengers under the age of 16 must be secured by a seat belt or a child passenger seat appropriate for their age, height, and weight. Our department strongly encourages all occupants of motor vehicles to wear seat belts or an appropriate child passenger seat regardless of age or seating position in a vehicle, as they are proven to save lives and reduce injuries.
