The Rome Police Department Announces the Retirement of Captain Scott Wittmann

The Rome Police Department announces the retirement of Captain Scott R. Wittmann. The Captain was appointed to the department on May 27, 1989. He was subsequently promoted to Sergeant in 1994, Lieutenant in 1999 and Captain in 2007. He has been a shift supervisor, Assistant Watch Commander and Watch Commander. He also supervised the department''s Accident Reconstruction Unit and Snowmobile/ATV Units. The members of the department are appreciative of all that Scott accomplished in his 29 years of service and wish him all of the best in his future endeavors. The Captain also served as a member of the Oneida County Sheriff''s Office Corrections Division and was a SUNY Binghamton Police Officer prior to accepting a position with the City of Rome.  His last day of service was Friday, January 12.
