Officer Matthew Hall named Officer of the Month - April

The Rome Police Department is pleased to announce that Officer Matthew Hall has been selected as the Officer of the Month for the month of April.

On April 21, 2018 at about 4:30 PM, Officer Hall was dispatched to the Westgate Plaza regarding a citizen complaint of two males acting suspiciously. Officer Hall located these individuals and interviewed them. He soon became suspicious of their activity and demeanor and conducted a pat down search of one of the subjects. This search located a concealed, illegally possessed stun-gun. The subject, who has an extensive criminal record was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, a Class D Felony.

Officer Halls professional response and attention to duty removed a dangerous weapon from the community and led to the arrest of a longtime criminal. His actions bring great credit to himself and to this department. Officer Hall joined the Rome Police Department in June of 2016.
