Rome Police Arrest Man for Manufacturing Methamphetamine

On Saturday, June 9th at about 11:50 PM, Rome Police Patrol units responded to the Madison Plaza Apartments parking lot to investigate suspicious activity. After an investigation, it was determined that an individual was in possession of at least one active Meth Lab and several precursors used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. A Detective assigned to the Rome Police Department Special Investigative Unit and the New York State Police CCERT (Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team) continued the investigation. Police arrested Kenneth R. Powell, dob 03/01/1984, 6250 State Route 291, Marcy NY. He has been charged with one count of Manufacturing Methamphetamine in the 3rd degree, a Class D Felony. He has been held pending arraignment in Rome City Court.
